Chola Chess GM Norm RR Round 6: GM Alisher Suleymenov takes full point lead

Kazakh Grandmaster Alisher Suleymenov now has a full point lead over the field; he is on 4.5/6 points. In the 6th round, he defeated French GM Mahel Boyer in a marathon game that lasted for 168 moves. In another decisive game, IM Akshay Borgaonkar lost against French Grandmaster Girel Joseph. The other three games ended in a draw. For the second place, it's a fight among Ethan Vaz, Ameya Audi, Aronyak Ghosh, and GM Delgado Ramirez Neuris from Paraguay, as all of them are on 3.5/6 points. Alisher is not making it easy for anyone

Kazakh Grandmaster Alisher Suleymenov took the World by storm in 2023 when he defeated Magnus Carlsen in the Qatar Masters. Now he is dominating at the Chola Chess GM Norm Round Robin tournament in India. He is still unbeaten in the event with 3 wins and 3 draws. In round 6, Aronyak Ghosh played a draw against Harsh Suresh, Mayank Chakraborty drew with white pieces against Ameya Audi, and Ethan Vaz vs GM Delgado Ramirez Neuris also ended in a draw.
